This show strikes a balance between comedy and serious legal issues with great performances by Ryu Hye-young as lead character backed up by an incredible supporting cast.
Lee Soo Kyung gave one of the outstanding performances of Reply 1988 as Sol A’s roomie, Lee Soo Kyung. Her character exemplified an ideal law student – intelligent yet awkward at times – who found it offensive when someone called her superficial; consequently she stood up for Sol A and protected his honor.
Students are currently working on the dating abuse bill. When Ye-seul receives several sticky notes that criticize her as a law student, she stands up for herself and defends her honor as a law student despite Professor Yang’s praise. Kang Sol A rings to inform Professor Yang she wants to drop the lawsuit against Assemblyman Ko. Professor Yang praises Ye-seul but suddenly receives word from Kang Sol A that she wants to drop it.

Furthermore, this show explores identity issues affecting characters such as Kang Sol A who has an unusual past she is trying to keep secret while at the same time being an elite scholarship student who aspires to become a prosecutor and has a crush on Han Joon-hwi – their rival student and rival prosecutor!
